The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) recently organized a seminar at the University of Sahiwal to raise awareness about the Chief Minister Punjab’s ‘Maryam Ke Dastak’ initiative. The event aimed to educate citizens on the ease of accessing official documents from the comfort of their homes through trained ‘Dastak Facilitators.’
PITB Joint Director Faisal Mumtaz provided an insightful overview of the initiative, highlighting its implementation across all districts, including Sahiwal. He explained that the program is designed to streamline public service delivery by offering doorstep access to essential documents, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing convenience for the general public.
Following the seminar, the PITB team met with Commissioner Sahiwal, Shoaib Iqbal Syed, to discuss the initiative’s regional execution. Commissioner Syed assured full cooperation and urged all Deputy Commissioners within the Sahiwal division to actively support and facilitate the program’s implementation.
Additionally, a meeting was held with Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Shahid Mahmood, along with key focal persons from various departments. The officials collectively reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of ‘Maryam Ke Dastak’ in the region.
The initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to digital governance and citizen facilitation, aiming to bring official services directly to people’s doorsteps, particularly benefiting those in remote areas. The University of Sahiwal’s seminar served as a crucial step in building awareness and mobilizing local stakeholders for the program’s success.
