The federal government and Ittehad Tanzimat Madaris Pakistan have agreed that the Federal Board of Education will be conducting examinations of all compulsory subjects in Madrassas and will be issuing Matriculation and Intermediate level results. to students

Addressing a press conference, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Thursday, said that the Federal Board of Education will be awarding certificates to successful candidates of both Matric and Intermediate level at madrassas.

He said this decision would facilitate the madrassa students to secure admissions at any college or institute of their choice, as previously they faced issues due to madrassa certificates and issue of validation for these certificates.

“Now on receiving the certificate from the federal government, they can avail job opportunities and other options, “Mehmood added. The government was also planning to establish a religious education department in the Federal Board of Education.

The minister said the government and Ittehad Tanzimat Madaris Pakistan, a federation of the five Waqfs (seminary boards) had unanimously agreed to initiate coordination work through the medium of the federal ministry to improve education standards in madrassas, along with resolving their issues effectively. He said the administration of these madrassas would be responsible to conduct exams of all religion-based subjects, along with compiling results of Islamic subjects.
