Minorities playing role in national development

LAHORE: Punjab University organized cake cutting ceremony for Christian employee at Faisal Auditorium. Punjab Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Mian Mahmood ur Rashid was chief guest on occasion, whereas Vice Chancellor PU Dr Niaz Ahmad, Parliamentary Secretary Mahendra Singh, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, social activist Raja Munawar, Christian community leader Chaudhry Mushtaq Masih, administrative officers, employees and a large number of their family members were present on the occa.

While addressing on occasion Mian Mahmood ur Rashid said that the minorities in Pakistan were playing their role in the development of the country and we really appreciate their patriotism.

In his address, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhter has said that the message of Hazrat Isa (AS) and Hazrat Maryam (AS) needed to be disseminated to make the world a cradle of peace. He said that Christian employees at PU were getting equal opportunities in all fields and they were getting employment on merit. He said that the efforts of Christian staff to make universe beautiful were commendable. He said that PU was our home and we could make it more beautiful by working together.

Chaudhry Mushtaq said that minorities have complete freedom in Pakistan. He said that the VC and the administration had always helped and strengthened the Christians for which they were grateful. Later, the Christmas cake was cut.
