Due to the non-issuance of the admit cards, thousands of students couldn’t attempt the Intermediate and Matric Annual Exams 2021 being held under the Ziauddin University Examination Board.

Monday late night, the administrators and nominated representatives of the affiliated schools were waiting outside the board office to receive the admit cards. However, management of the board was unable to facilitate them. “Despite the commencement of examinations from August 24, the board could not issue admit cards to thousands of students,” said Muhammad Ikram, principal of a private school affiliated with the ZUEB.

According to Ikram, “more than 100 administrators of private schools were waiting to receive admit cards till Tuesday morning. However, the officials failed to resolve their issues. They were not facilitating the principal of affiliated schools and colleges”

After demonstrating protest against the board, some of the school principals, however, received admit cards, but they were not told where examination centers were located. Also, the board had established exam centers in small spaces where hundred students were hardly attempting their exams.

Some of the principals revealed that the board was issuing manual admit cards to the candidates. “We were not expecting that a private educational board will be issuing manual admit cards to students in this digital era”.

They said that exams centers were set up at government schools which are closed due to Covid-19. In some schools, there was a lack of facilities such as clean drinking water and toilets.
