A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between University of Education, Lahore and Zalmi Foundation (ZF) has been signed yesterday at Township Campus.

The purpose of this MoU was to develop and expand a framework of cooperation between both organizations to apply for the USAID grant titled: Improving Girls’ Education Activity and to develop/expand relationship through mutually agreed activities. The University of Education and Zalmi Foundation shall work together in taking substantial steps towards improving girls’ education in Pakistan and specifically KP and the Newly Merged Districts.

The both parties shall work together to uplift the socio-economic status of females by imparting Skills Development Training programs in areas related to, but not limited to ICTs, Sports, Health, Education and Responsible Citizenship. They shall work together to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Pakistan. UE shall provide its trainers to ZF for training and development purposes. The both institutions shall work together to improve the management and performance of girls schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They shall provide Vocational Skills Trainings and other training programs to the local people to create a pool of highly skilled labor. ZF shall arrange and manage all needed HR for this initiative and take a leading role in marketing and promotion of skill development programs. ZF and UE shall facilitate the trainees of this initiative, on merit-basis, in acquiring internships.

The UE Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) while talking to the media said that this MoU will go a long way to uplift the social status of our females especially the female students. A steering committee with due presentation of both parties shall be notified for ensuring implementation of the agreed activities. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) from University of Education and CIO Dr. Cedric Aimal Edwin from Zalmi Foundation signed the MoU.
