MSPH Thesis Defence Seminar held at JSMU

A scholar of Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) Dr Arit Parkash successfully defended his thesis at the 24th thesis defense research seminar led by APPNA Institute of Public Health-Jinnah Sindh Medical University and the Research Department at the VC Boardroom on February 2, 2022.

Dr Arit completed his research work under the supervision of Associate Professor AIPH-JSMU Dr Shiraz Shaikh on the subject ‘Changes in Caloric Consumption, Physical Activity, and Body Mass Index during the month of Ramadan among Doctors of a Public Sector University.’

The thesis defense seminar was assessed by the committee members, including two external examiners, Professor Department of Community Health Sciences Dr Romaina Iqbal at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Head of Community Medicine Professor Munir Ahmed Saleemi, College of Medicine and Dentistry University of Lahore (UOL), and one internal examiner Chairperson Department of Community Medicine JSMU Professor Ghazala Usman.

Chairperson Insitute of Medical Education-JSMU Professor Syeda Kauser Ali served as the neutral chair.
Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shahid Rasul praised the MSPH graduate for the hard work and congratulated him on successfully defending his thesis.
Towards the end of the presentation, Dr Arit thanked Chairperson AIPH-JSMU Professor Lubna Ansari Baig and Associate Professor Shiraz Shaikh for their supervision and assistance.

The open presentation could be accessed by people from across the world. The presentation links were circulated to the entire faculty of JSMU via email.
