JAMSHORO: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) has suspended an IT department assistant over misconduct allegations involving female students, as reported by 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The university took action after a group of female students filed a written complaint against the official, accusing him of abusing his authority. MUET Vice-Chancellor Dr. Taha Hussain has initiated an inquiry into the matter and formed a three-member committee to conduct the investigation.

The committee, headed by Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar, has started its investigation and recorded the statements of the complainants. The accused individual has not yet provided his statement.

The university has assured the students that the matter is being taken seriously and that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure a fair and transparent investigation.
