LinkedIn

Mehran University Teachers Association,  Officers Welfare Association and Employees Welfare Association in a joint statement claimed the letter written by a female teacher and some officers of the varsity to the Chief Minister Sindh against the MUET VC Dr Aslam Uqaili, as misleading.

They maintained that the said teacher and the officers were facing court trial as well as an inquiry in FIA Cyber Crime Cell. A former MUET officer, who was suspended after being found guilty of fraud in medical bills, was also a part of the malicious campaign against the MUET VC.

The joint statement read that Prof. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili has developed MUET and under his leadership, the university has earned a positive name in the country as well as in the world. The records and profiles of those who have tarnished the image of MUET and Dr Uqaili through false allegations should be checked. Some of the officers who have signed the letter have been convicted while they are still facing trials and hearings in some cases.

The Mehran University Employees’ Union has revealed that four of the employees mentioned in the letter are not MUET’s employees. Their records can be checked by any individual or institution.
