Located at the Bahria University (BU) Karachi Campus, PMSTP is envisioned as a transformative hub for maritime science, technology, and economic growth, marking a major milestone in the nation’s efforts to strengthen its blue economy.

Spanning 375,000 square feet, PMSTP is Pakistan’s first dedicated maritime science park, designed to integrate academia, industry, and government collaboration. It aims to drive advancements in key sectors, including naval technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, ocean renewable energy, seafood processing, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism. The park will house centers of excellence, R&D facilities, and incubation hubs to foster entrepreneurship and job creation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Admiral Naveed Ashraf underscored the project’s importance for national progress. “PMSTP will pave the way for much-needed growth in maritime sciences, technologies, businesses, and industries. This groundbreaking event will open new vistas for the growth of our national GDP and the progress of our maritime sector,” he said. The Naval Chief also highlighted the role of partnerships with forward-thinking individuals and organizations in realizing this historic project.

PMSTP’s impact is set to extend beyond Karachi, with future expansions planned for Islamabad, Lahore, and Gwadar, reflecting a comprehensive approach to bolstering Pakistan’s economic landscape.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished audience, including government officials, academicians, military officers, and representatives from international and national business communities. The event marks a turning point in Pakistan’s efforts to harness its maritime potential for a prosperous and sustainable future.

This initiative represents a critical leap forward in addressing Pakistan’s economic challenges, with PMSTP poised to become a beacon of technological excellence and economic innovation in the region.
