NCOC’s education ministers’ conference postponed

LAHORE: Inter-provincial Education Ministers Conference under National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has been cancelled. The meeting has to decide about the opening of educational institutions.

According to details, the meeting of the Interprovincial Education Ministers Conference was scheduled for May 18 but it was cancelled due to unannounced reasons. Education ministers from all provinces including Punjab Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Education Ministers had to attend the postponed meeting.

As per the sources, now the meeting likely to be held on May 19, in which the situation of coronavirus, the ratio of positive patients and opening of educational institutions will be discussed. Earlier the previous meeting of education ministers decided to close the educational institutions across the country till May 23.

It is pertinent to mention here that educational institutions in Pakistan have been frequent closure and opening since March 2020. The situation has badly affected educational activities.

In 2020, the government announced to promote students to the next classes without examination but now education ministers from all provinces have decided that none of the students will be promoted without exams.
