Institute of Medical Education IME-JSMU held an orientation ceremony for the new batch of the Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) programme today.
CHPE is a six-month certificate programme, following a blended approach. A total of 49 candidates are enrolled divided into 2 groups . The CHPE course structure is divided into three modules , each module is of 2 months with the end module exam.
On the occasion, Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shahid Rasul said that the CHPE programme provides an opportunity to doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals involved in teaching and learning to learn effective concepts of health professions education.
Chairperson IME-JSMU Professor Syeda Kauser Ali greeted all the candidates, faculty members from JSMU and its affiliated colleges and began the CHPE introductory session. ‘IME-JSMU facilitates a challenging learning experience to optimize faculty development, and enhance professional impact throughout your teaching career.
We offer a blended learning environment – focused on developing basic skills in teaching and assessment.’ Says Prof Syeda Kauser Ali while addressing the teaching professionals from various institutes.
The session was followed by alumni experience shared by Principal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences IPS-JSMU Prof.Huma Ali, Assistant Professor Pathology Department Dr Nazish Jaffer, and Lecturer, Dr Maria Ghani, Department of Dental Education Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine.
The orientation session was hosted by the faculty members of IME-JSMU including Director CHPE Dr. Shaur Sarfaraz Ahmed, Dr. Tazeen Shah, Lecturer IME-JSMU Dr. Tayyaba Akram (Co-ordinator CHPE), Joint faculty IME-JSMU Dr. Jaweria Sikander.
