The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad, commemorated Pakistan Day by organizing the Tajdeed-e-Ehad Pakistan Conference at Jinnah Auditorium, Salam Block. The event served as a platform for intellectual discourse on Pakistan’s ideological foundations, national identity, and future prospects.
The conference was presided over by Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood Kayani (Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military), Rector NUML. Notable speakers included Mr Khurshid Ahmed Nadeem, Chairman of the Rehmat-ul-Lil-Alameen Authority; Dr Khalid Rahman, Chairman of the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS); and Professor Dr Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute and Dean Faculty of Shariah & Law at the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).
During the conference, speakers underscored the historical and ideological significance of Pakistan’s creation while addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities. They emphasized the necessity of advancements in education, science, and policy-making to ensure the nation’s stability and growth.
Addressing the audience, Rector NUML, Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood Kayani, remarked that Pakistan Day is more than a historical milestone; it is a reminder of the nation’s founding objectives. He encouraged the youth to play an active role in Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
Mr. Khurshid Nadeem elaborated on the fault lines hindering Pakistan’s development, while Dr. Khalid Rahman discussed the impact of fake news and its threat to national unity. Professor Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq highlighted Pakistan’s strengths and emphasized the importance of unwavering commitment to Islam, Pakistan, and the country’s armed forces, beyond doubts and misperceptions.
The conference attracted a large number of faculty members, researchers, and students, all of whom engaged in thought-provoking discussions on shaping a prosperous future for Pakistan. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of dedication to national values and progress in the spirit of Pakistan Day.
