In a significant move to aid financially challenged students, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and the Professional Education Foundation (PEF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to provide financial support to deserving students, ensuring that their education remains uninterrupted despite economic difficulties.

The ceremony was held at NUST, where Rector Engr Javed Mehmood Bukhari expressed his gratitude to PEF and other philanthropists. He emphasized the importance of external support in helping NUST realize its vision of becoming a need-blind institution—one that guarantees no student has to drop out due to financial hardships.

Mr Hafiz Ul Haq, Chairman of PEF, highlighted the expansion of their financial aid program through the MoU. He announced plans to increase the number of scholarships, simplify the application process, and broaden eligibility criteria, thus making it easier for more students to access financial assistance.

The MoU was signed by Mr Hafiz Ul Haq and Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Commercialization at NUST. Also present at the signing were Ms Arooba Gillani, Director of Advancement and Head of Global Engagements, and Ms Saadia Sadat, Resource Mobilization Officer.

This collaboration marks another milestone in NUST’s efforts to provide high-quality education to students regardless of their financial background, further cementing its role as a premier institution in Pakistan.
