In a significant step towards fostering educational collaboration and cultural understanding, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah.

The MoU, signed by H.E. Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Affairs on behalf of OIC, and H.E. Vice Marshal (R) Dr. Asif Raza, Rector of UMT, outlines a comprehensive framework for long-term collaboration between the two entities.
A key component of the agreement is the provision of scholarships by UMT to students hailing from OIC Member States. This initiative is expected to open new avenues for students across the Islamic world to pursue higher education at UMT, fostering academic excellence and cross-cultural interactions.
The collaboration also extends to various academic realms, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, and publications with universities from OIC Member States. This multifaceted approach aims to create a robust and sustained partnership, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between UMT and the OIC General Secretariat.
The partnership’s overarching goal is to strengthen ties between the OIC and UMT, paving the way for innovative initiatives that contribute to the advancement of education and cultural understanding on an international scale. By fostering cooperation in academia, the collaboration seeks to contribute to the broader goals of the OIC in promoting unity and cooperation among its Member States.
Both parties expressed optimism regarding the positive impact of this partnership on the academic landscape of OIC Member States. The signing of this MoU marks a milestone in the journey towards building bridges of knowledge and understanding, fostering a brighter future for students and academics alike across the Islamic world.
