Owing to lack of facilities, a student dies during exam at Dow

LinkedIn

Due to poor management and negligence of the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), a student dies during the nursing exam, Sindh Assembly opposition leader Haleem Adil Shiekh in a statement has claimed. He said that Amir Bakhsh, a student, died due to suffocation in the examination room.

No facilities were available to the students in the examination room. While quoting another student named Shan Maher, the opposition leader has stated that students were not even given drinking water in this extreme heat. The varsity administration does not spend the money being collected from the students. The candidates would demonstrate protest against the university administration on 11th August and PTI will support their protest.

Shaikh condemned the student’s death and said that it is a very sad incident and action should be taken against the university administration that collects millions of rupees from the students but no facilities were given to students.

To secure admission, thousands of students every year attempt the DUMHS exams. However, the varsity administration is focused on collecting money from students only. An inquiry should be conducted immediately and justice should be given to the aggrieved family of the late student Amir Baksh.

The assets of the university administration from the vice chancellor to other staff should be investigated. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf stands with the students and will bring the DUMHS management to justice.
