The Future of Pakistan is Secure, COAS at HEC National Youth Convention

In a resolute address at the National Youth Convention, organized by the Higer Education Commission (HEC), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, assuring the nation that the country’s future remains secure.

“The future of Pakistan is secure,” General Munir declared, highlighting the essential alliance between the nation, the government, and the military as a cornerstone of the country’s prosperity. He emphasized the state’s responsibility to shield its citizens from the negative impacts of social media, which he described as a significant challenge in the modern era.

Addressing concerns about Pakistan’s economic stability, General Munir noted that those who once predicted the country’s economic collapse have now been proven wrong. “Those who once predicted Pakistan’s economic default are now nowhere to be found,” he remarked, underscoring the resilience of the nation’s economy.

General Munir also spoke passionately about the significance of independence, urging the audience to appreciate the value of an independent state by drawing comparisons to the struggles faced by people in Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and Gaza. “One should ask the importance of an independent state from the people of Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and Gaza,” he said.

In a message of hope and resilience, General Munir encouraged the nation to remain optimistic, stating that despair is not an option for Muslims. He also underscored the vital role of Pakistan’s youth, describing them as the country’s most precious asset, which must be protected at all costs.

The COAS expressed his confidence that Pakistan will overcome the threat of terrorism, acknowledging the unwavering support of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the fight against terrorism for the past 22 years. He called on tribal communities to assist the state in resolving conflicts through dialogue, emphasizing the importance of unity in the face of adversity.

This address follows the federal government’s recent launch of a new counterterrorism operation, Azm-e-Istehkam (Resolve for Stability), aimed at curbing the surge in terrorist activities across the country. The initiative, announced by the military’s media wing, seeks to coordinate national counterterrorism efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and illegal activities, thereby ensuring lasting stability and economic prosperity.

The Pakistan Army has also strongly dismissed any criticism of the new anti-terror operation, vowing to counter “digital terrorism” and confront those spreading fake news and propaganda, often supported by foreign entities. The military institution clarified that this operation would not be a large-scale military offensive but would focus on targeted measures to ensure national security.

As Pakistan continues to face complex challenges, General Munir’s address served as a powerful reminder of the nation’s resilience and the unwavering commitment of its military to safeguard its future.
