The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing hosted the first-ever China-Pakistan Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Forum, aimed at enhancing cooperation in education and workforce development between the two nations. The event, titled “Fostering a Skilled Workforce: Forging a Brighter Future,” brought together policymakers, officials, and TVET leaders from both countries.

Both emphasized the importance of technical and vocational education in promoting employability and innovation.
Pakistan’s Ambassador, H.E. Khalil Hashmi, hailed the forum as a significant step in Pakistan’s industrialization and a key contribution to the next phase of CPEC projects. Minister Ahsan Iqbal, in a pre-recorded message, underlined the role of TVET in driving sustainable economic growth.
The forum included panel discussions and the signing of several MoUs between Chinese polytechnic institutes and Pakistan’s TVET authorities. A plaque unveiling ceremony was also held for the ‘Kaiwu Workshop’ at NUTECH, Islamabad. Ambassador Hashmi concluded by stressing the importance of implementing these MoUs and proposed making the forum an annual event.
