The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi announced that these students were chosen based on their exceptional academic accomplishments and their significant contributions to research in the field of chemistry. The grant highlights the students’ potential and provides them with an opportunity to engage with global experts, present their research findings, and explore international collaborations.

Under the mentorship of Dr M Imran Malik, who chairs the ACS Pakistan Chapter and serves as the faculty advisor for the ACS student chapter at the university, the students have distinguished themselves in their research. Dr Malik’s leadership has been pivotal in guiding their academic journey and preparing them for such prestigious platforms.

The ACS Qatar Chapter and RSC Regional MEA Conference 2024 is a premier international event for chemists, researchers, and industry leaders from around the world. The conference will feature advanced presentations, specialized workshops, and ample networking opportunities, offering the students a unique setting to expand their knowledge and build professional connections.

Congratulating the award recipients, Prof Dr Farzana Shaheen, Director of ICCBS, commended their hard work and dedication. “This achievement is a testament to the students’ hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit. We are proud to see our students receive this recognition and look forward to their contributions to the scientific community,” she stated.

The Vice Chancellor of the Karachi University, Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, along with Prof Dr Atta-ur Rahman, Professor Emeritus and former Federal Minister for Science and Technology, also praised the students for their accomplishments.
