A group of Palestinian students has arrived in Karachi from Gaza to continue their education, as the ongoing conflict has left educational institutions in their homeland in ruins.
Seven students have already reached Karachi, with another group expected to arrive in the coming days. These students will be enrolled in various educational institutions across the city. This follows the arrival of 27 Palestinian medical students in Lahore last October, who came to Pakistan to resume their studies.
The latest group traveled to Pakistan via an international airline from Istanbul and was transported to a local hotel under tight security. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has granted special permission for medical and dental students from Gaza to complete their education in Pakistan. This decision was made at the request of the Pakistani High Commissioner in London.
According to the PMDC president, around 100 medical and dental students from Gaza are expected to arrive in Pakistan. They will be accommodated in local medical and dental colleges, with a dedicated committee ensuring the smooth completion of their education.
The welfare organization Al-Khidmat has taken full responsibility for covering the students’ educational and living expenses. With Gaza’s educational infrastructure destroyed, these students are turning to Pakistan to fulfill their academic dreams.
