PEC Chairman Engr Muhammad Najeeb Haroon graced the event as the chief guest. A total of 102 universities participated, with 92 attending in person. Financing was awarded to 1,800 students showcasing 543 projects during the ceremony.

The annual event sponsors engineering students with projects aimed at promoting industry-compatible products. PEC, in collaboration with universities and industry partners, identifies market-driven projects through surveys and business community engagement. These projects, aligned with local industry needs, are then selected for the Final Year Engineering Design Project Financing program.

Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan, the Vice-Chancellor of UAF Faisalabad, extended a warm welcome to guests from academia, media, and industries. He applauded the initiative, a first in PEC’s history, as a significant step to benefit universities, support academia, and inspire engineering students to contribute to market-demanded projects for the betterment of Pakistan.

Engr Mir Masood Rashid, adviser to the chairman of PEC and convenor of PPDC, emphasized the platform’s role in promoting industry localization amid Pakistan’s economic challenges. He underscored the primary goal of Final Year Projects Financing, focusing on fostering entrepreneurship among young engineers. The initiative aims to provide networking opportunities, mentorship, and financial support to startups.

PEC PPDC’s successful initiatives were highlighted, including the formation of the 1st Engineer Parliamentarians Caucus, Day Trip learning for 3rd-year engineering students, STEM education Ambassadors program at the school level, Engineering CAPSTONE EXPO, PEC E-Library, paid Graduate Internship program (GIT), UN SDG’s adoption, and PEC E-Gateway for consulting services e-procurement.

Dr Khurram Tariq, President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, praised PEC’s efforts, stating that the industry had long awaited such initiatives.

Engr Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, chairman of PEC and the chief guest, addressed the ceremony, emphasizing the core responsibilities of organizations like PEC in restarting the journey towards becoming a developed nation. He highlighted the youth as a crucial pillar for Pakistan’s progress, emphasizing PEC’s initiatives, including financing, to prevent brain drain and promote the localization of the “Made in Pakistan” journey, essential for overcoming the current economic challenges.
