Lahore: Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Asad Naeem met with Director General Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Naveed Akbar at PEF Head Office, Lahore.

MD PEF welcomed him and briefed him on PEF’s initiatives, achievements and roadmap. During the meeting, it was mutually agreed to actualize already signed MOU between PEF and BISP under which PEF partner schools across Punjab would be benefitted under “Waseela-e-Taleem (WeT)” Project of BISP. This Project aims to provide financial support to the families of children attending PEF partner schools, with the aim of providing quality education to the children as well as lifting their families out of financial vulnerabilities.

In addition, Director General Naveed Akbar said that BISP would identify Out Of School Children (OOSC) through a survey and later register the families of those children in the WeT Project. BISP afterwards shall send all such OOSC to PEF partner schools. He further added that BISP will provide financial assistance to the families of the children under the WeT Project after verifying the attendance of their registered children in PEF schools. During the meeting, it was also discussed to provide special financial assistance to female students studying in PEF affiliated Secondary and Higher Secondary schools.
