Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge ’18 Ends At A High Note

Preston University Islamabad organized an All Pakistan Inter University Business Plan Competition titled Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge “PEC18” with the Slogan “Jahaan wo chayay mujh ko k ho abhi Nokhaiz”.

PEC-18 kicked off in Islamabad on May 11, 2018. The mega inter-university Business Plan Competition was the 6th in the series of competitions organized by Preston University annually. More than 237 teams from eminent public and private universities from across Pakistan took part in the event, of which 31 teams were shortlisted for the Grand Finale. This selection was made on the basis of their executive summaries.

The purpose of organizing Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge was to provide a platform to the budding entrepreneurs of the country where they could present their innovative ideas, get themselves mentored by domain experts, meet investors and get encouragement. The event comprised of various competitions, including Elevator Pitch, Business Plan Competition, Junk Yard Activity, revamp the brand and advocacy. All these challenging and enlightening activities made Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge a remarkable occasion.

The sponsors of the event were Naimat Pvt Ltd, GreenSpire, Win Steel Rerolling Mill, Triangle Paints, Adam G Dura Built, Supreme Elevators Services, Dest In, Jaxtox, Saqib Corporations, Eventie, RF Enterprises, MassCom Solutions, Jefenzi Perfumes, Sweet Palace, Ameen Sons, Des Pardes and Chenab Associates & Accountability Lab.

The closing ceremony of ‘PEC 18’ was attended by various industry leaders, including Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sheikh Amir Waheed, who was the chief guest at the occasion. In his address, the chief guest highlighted the importance of creating entrepreneurial opportunities for the youngsters. He praised the university management for organising a great competition like PEC 18. Waheed said such events provided aspiring entrepreneurs of the country to demonstrate their skills and talents in entrepreneurship development.

The winner of the competition was a team from the University of Management Technology, Lahore, who won a cash prize of Rs 100,000/. The second prize of Rs 75,000 was claimed by a team from Preston University Islamabad, while Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology Khuzdar team took home the third position and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
