In a significant move to enhance educational and research collaboration, Punjab University (PU) and Shalamar Medical & Dental College (SMDC) Lahore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signing ceremony took place at the office of the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, with key representatives from both institutions in attendance.
Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, and Prof Dr Muhammad Zahid Bashir, Principal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College, were present to formalize the agreement. The MOU aims to foster cooperation in various academic and research endeavors, providing enriched experiences for both students and faculty members.
Under the terms of the MOU, both institutions will collaborate on a range of activities, including joint research projects, publications, and academic programs such as degrees and diplomas. They will also co-host seminars, conferences, workshops, and facilitate faculty and student exchanges to broaden academic horizons and share knowledge.
Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating, “We believe this MOU will bring positive results and significantly contribute to the academic growth of both institutions. Our collaboration will pave the way for innovative research and development in various fields.”
The Principal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College, Prof Dr Muhammad Zahid Bashir, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in advancing educational standards and research capabilities.
