In an inspiring initiative aimed at fostering cultural exchange and deepening understanding between Pakistan and China, the Punjab University (PU) Confucius Institute organized a summer camp that saw 19 students from various Pakistani universities embark on a two-week adventure through China.

The journey, held under the expert guidance of Professor Cai JinBao, Chinese Director at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST), offered students an enriching experience of China’s vibrant culture and rich history.

Upon their arrival, the students were warmly welcomed with a grand reception in Guangzhou. This set the tone for a series of engaging activities, beginning with an exhilarating high-speed train ride that introduced them to China’s advanced transportation system.

Throughout the camp, students participated in various cultural activities, including Chinese calligraphy and Kung Fu classes, providing them with hands-on experience in traditional Chinese arts. They delved into the historic essence of the country with visits to the Fushou Canal, Wei’s Family House, and local museums, gaining deep insights into China’s storied past.

City highlights of the camp included tours of prominent landmarks such as the Guangzhou Tower and Shenzhen Bay Park. A full-day exploration of Zhuhai allowed the students to witness the dynamic urban landscapes and scenic beauty of the region.

The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Host Director of the Punjab University Confucius Institute Dr Shafiq ur Rehman, and Yang Bin, President of JXUST, for their incredible support and coordination in making the summer camp 2024 a remarkable success.

This initiative not only provided the students with a profound educational experience but also strengthened the bonds of friendship and understanding between Pakistan and China.
