LAHORE: Punjab University Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) in collaboration with Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre (Punjab Chapter) has organized a seminar on ‘Thalassemia Awareness & Prevention’. Principal HCBF Prof Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan, faculty members, students and administrative staff attended the seminar. Free Thalassemia screening facility was arranged for the participants. On this occasion, speakers gave comprehensive lectures on Thalassemia and brief the audience about this blood disorder and its consequences.
In his address, Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan said the prevalence of Thalassemia is increasing in Pakistan and stressed the need of such awareness seminars to reduce the incidences of this genetic blood disorder. He praised the organizers of the seminar and encouraged the audience to create more awareness about Thalassemia as this is one of the most important, but sadly ignored topics.
