Punjab University’s Academic Staff Association (ASA) hosts two-day sports gala with a vibrant inaugural ceremony on Friday, December 13, 2024. The event was held at the PU Gymnasium and inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood, ASA President Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi, Secretary Dr Muhammad Islam, other ASA office-bearers, Syndicate members including Dr Muhammad Nasir, Dr Zeeshan Mutahir, Dr Ashi Zeeshan, and Dr Aamir Masood, alongside university faculty and their families.
The gala features a variety of sports competitions such as cricket, badminton, tug-of-war, chess, and races. To enhance the festive atmosphere, free food and drink stalls have been set up for families attending the event.
On the first day, the team led by Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali clinched victory in the tug-of-war competition. Speaking at the event, Dr Muhammad Ali emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities, stating, “Such events are vital for fostering a healthy and engaging educational environment. I encourage the ASA to organize these activities regularly.”
ASA President Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi highlighted the association’s commitment to the welfare and recreation of university staff, while Secretary Dr Muhammad Islam remarked on the value of sports in teaching life skills such as resilience and teamwork.
