PU ISCS observes World Water Day

LAHORE: Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan observed World Water Day 2022. On this occasion, awareness seminar and walk was organized to sensitize the participants about utilization and importance of groundwater. In her address, Director ISCS Dr Rubeena Zakar highlighted the preservation of water and said that water is an essential natural resource and will deplete if we do not utilize it judicially. “We need to work synergistically to sensitize people for water conservation”, she added. The Director said if we are not preserving this indispensable resource, it can lead to economic issues, water conflict and many health problems. A poster and debate competition was also held keeping in view this year’s broader theme i.e Groundwater: making the invisible visible. Students secured first, second and third position in poster and debate competitions were awarded with cash prizes.
