PU Library Organizes Meet the Author Session

Punjab University (PU) Library hosted a special ‘Meet the Author’ session, featuring two distinguished authors who shared insights into their groundbreaking literary works. The event was attended by PU Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Professor Dr. Rukhsana Iftikhar from the Department of History, renowned Urdu literature teacher Hameeda Shaheen, faculty members, and a large number of enthusiastic students.

The session spotlighted two significant books. The first was “Women in Politics: Jahanara Begum, the Mughal Princess” by Dr. Rukhsana Iftikhar. Dr. Iftikhar, with her historian’s precision, highlighted the often-overlooked contributions of Mughal women, particularly Jahanara Begum, providing new perspectives on their roles in shaping Mughal history.

The second featured book, “Islam k Siyasi Nizam Main Ikhlaqyat ki Ahmiat” (The Importance of Ethics in Islamic Political Systems) by Hameeda Shaheen, delved into the essential role of ethics in Islamic politics. Shaheen drew insightful parallels between historical political ethics and contemporary issues, emphasizing the relevance of moral integrity in governance.

In his remarks, Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani expressed gratitude to the authors and attendees for their participation, underscoring that Punjab University Library remains a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and the celebration of literature.
