LAHORE: The Punjab University Library has resumed its Book Club activities after a coronavirus pandemic break of nearly one year and arranged its first program of 2021.
The faculty members and students attended the program amid strict compliance of Covid-19 SOPs. Chief Librarian of PU Library Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani briefed the audience about the book “Yar Saraye by Shahid Malik”.
Institute of English Studies Assistant Professor Dr Shahzeb Khan scholarly elaborated the subject of the book “The age of surveillance capitalism: the fight for a human future at the new frontier of power by Shoshana Zuboff’.
The book is about the manipulation of personal information data by economic companies and the effects of this unacknowledged use of data on the life of the person and the society.
Dr Usmani said that it was the mission of the PU Library to encourage reading habits among academia.
