Punjab University (PU) Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) recently hosted a national seminar in commemoration of Pakistan Day. Distinguished guests including representatives from the Eco-Cultural Institute (ECI) Tehran, Iran, Dr. Saad S. Khan, Director of the National Institute of Historical & Cultural Research (NIHCR) Islamabad, Dr. Sajid Mehmood Awan, Director of PSC, Prof. Dr. Naumana Kiran, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafique, along with faculty members and students, graced the occasion with their presence.
During his keynote address, Dr. Saad S. Khan illuminated the political journey of Begum Jinnah. Delving into her early life, family background, marriage to Quaid-i-Azam, and her pivotal role in political activism and anti-colonialism, Dr. Khan provided a comprehensive insight into Mrs. Jinnah’s life and contributions.
Dr. Sajid Awan delivered a lecture focusing on the recurring political and constitutional challenges faced by Pakistan. He meticulously analyzed Pakistan’s constitutional evolution from its inception to the present day, shedding light on the persistent issues that have shaped the country’s political landscape.
Prof. Dr. Naumana Kiran extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the seminar’s theme to the audience, setting the stage for an engaging and insightful discourse.
