PU seeks vaccine jabs for teachers, faculty

LAHORE: Punjab University has immediately demanded corona vaccination drive for its teachers and employees  including 1306 faculty members and 5000 non-teaching staff, from the health department.

PU wrote a letter to the health department which said that teachers are providing teaching facilities to 46,000 students of the university.

“Educational institutions are suffering the most due to the COVID-19 and teachers and staff are risking their lives to provide the best services for the provision of education in the pandemic situation,” the letter reads.

The virus has also affected dozens of teachers and employees and many lives were lost.

“The government has started the process of vaccination of elders and front line workers and we urge that teachers and employees should also be vaccinated,” the letter reads.
