PU hosts Seminar on AI Integration in Chemical Process Optimization

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Students Chapter recently organized a seminar at the Punjab University (PU) Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (ICET) focused on the theme “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI): Integration in Chemical Process Optimization & Risk Management.”

The event, which drew a significant audience comprising faculty members, industry professionals, and students, aimed to explore the application of artificial intelligence in chemical process industries, particularly in the realms of process safety, risk management, and process control.

Among the distinguished speakers were Chapter Advisor Dr. Ayyaz Muhammad, Waqas Mehmood Danish from AGM Safety, Packages Ltd., and senior production Engineer Ahmed Riaz Khan from Fatima Fertilizer Multan. Their presentations delved into the practical implementation of AI technologies in various facets of chemical processes, backed by real-time case studies highlighting efficiency gains and profit boosts achieved through AI integration.

Dr. Mudassar Azam, Dr. Usman Rashid, and Engr. Abid Mehmood, esteemed faculty members of ICET-PU, also graced the occasion, underscoring the academic institution’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to the exploration and application of cutting-edge technologies.
