Punjab Cabinet approved Single National Curriculum (SNC)  for provincial schools that will start implementing in the academic year 2021.
Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas said, “The Punjab cabinet approved a single national curriculum. We will be implementing it in School Year 2021 InshAllah. “
He clarified that the Single National Curriculum would be from grade one through grade five.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in its manifesto and election campaigns repeatedly said the party would bring a uniform curriculum for all cadres of education.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has also said that a uniform education system would end the class-based system in Pakistan.
He argued that the class-based education system would end in the country as all children would get equal opportunities to excel.
It is pertinent to note that the Prime Minister last month chaired a meeting on uniform education curriculum.
The federal education ministry in collaboration with the provinces is spearheading efforts to introduce a single-national curriculum at the primary level — both in public and private schools and religious seminaries.
