ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The National Command and Control Center (NCOC) in its Inter-Provincial Education Ministers meeting held on Wednesday announced to close all public and private schools in nine districts of Punjab.
Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas said, “All Public and Private schools of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargoda, Sheikhupura will remain closed till April 11th, 2021.”

Murad Raas clarified the remaining districts will be open on the previous schedule.
He said it was a difficult decision to close the schools but it was taken in the interests of students and teachers.
According to the newly NCOC-released figures on Wednesday morning, 1774 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours (Tuesday). Hence, the decision to extend the closure of schools is the need of the hour.
