Punjab Minister for Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani visited the Punjab University (PU) Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) to emphasize the importance of research and innovation in advancing agricultural development. The visit highlighted the critical role of scientific advancements in improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and food security, particularly in the cotton sector.
During the visit, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani was accompanied by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Director of CEMB Prof Dr Moazur Rahman, along with scientists, researchers, and faculty members. In his address, the Minister stressed the need for continued investment in cotton research and the fostering of collaborations to address the sector’s challenges. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting agricultural innovation and emphasized that the visit was part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote progress in agriculture.
