The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Tech Valley Pakistan to distribute Chromebooks to 200 schools across the province. The initiative, formally signed by the Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, aims to significantly boost digital learning and IT proficiency among students and educators in Punjab.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tech Valley will not only provide Chromebooks but will also offer comprehensive IT training to 10,000 students and teachers. This extensive training program is supported by Google for Education, ensuring that participants receive top-tier instruction and resources.
Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat highlighted the transformative potential of this partnership, emphasizing its role in equipping students with essential digital skills. “This agreement will enable our students to explore IT alongside traditional science and arts subjects, enriching their matriculation and intermediate studies,” said Hayat. “By integrating technology into our education system, we are taking a significant step towards realizing the vision of a ‘Digital Punjab.'”
The distribution of Chromebooks and the accompanying IT training are expected to revolutionize the educational landscape of Punjab. Students will have access to modern tools and resources, fostering a more interactive and engaging learning environment. Teachers, too, will benefit from the training, gaining new skills to integrate technology effectively into their teaching methods.
Tech Valley’s collaboration with the Punjab School Education Department reflects a broader commitment to advancing digital education and preparing students for a tech-driven future. With the support of Google for Education, this initiative is set to create a ripple effect, enhancing digital literacy and opening new opportunities for students across the province.
