The announcement was made on Wednesday at the Honhaar Scholarship distribution ceremony held at Government College Women University, Sialkot (GCWUS). CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the first shipment of laptops has already arrived and assured students that she personally selected high-quality devices for them. “All students scoring above 65% will receive laptops, and I will personally hand them over to you soon,” she stated.

She also revealed plans to expand the Honhaar Scholarship program. The number of scholarships distributed annually will increase from 30,000 to 50,000 in the next year’s budget, benefiting even more students, including those in their second and third years of study.

Additionally, the chief minister unveiled another significant initiative: the distribution of 100,000 free e-bikes to students across Punjab.

Addressing the students, Maryam Nawaz encouraged them to remain focused and avoid being influenced by detractors. “Pakistan is our red line, and we must remain loyal to our homeland,” she emphasized. She also criticized her political opponents, pointing out allegations of corruption against them. “They accused others of theft, yet a case involving 190 million pounds has been filed against them. The youth must pledge to stand firm and act in the best interests of the country,” she added.

Earlier, at the launch of the Honhaar Scholarship program at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), CM Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of education and unity. She called for an end to hatred, urging the creation of an inclusive and educated society. She reaffirmed that the first batch of laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme had arrived and would soon be distributed to deserving students.
