MIT Claims Top Spot For Graduate Employability in Latest QS Ranking

LinkedIn

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has come out as the top university in the latest QS Graduate Employability Ranking 2019, beating rival Stanford University.

MIT and Stanford University have for long been rivals in various rankings, with MIT edging out Stanford for this year’s QS honours by claiming the top honours for its reputation among employers and its alumni outcomes.

QS also named MIT as the top university in the world in its 2019 ranking of best universities. In total, there were five US universities in the top 10, with UK and Australia getting two spots each and China managing one place in the top 10.

The top US universities in the top 20 in the QS Graduate Employability Ranking 2019 were:

MIT (1)

Stanford University (2)

UCLA (3)

Harvard (4)

UC Berkeley (8)

NYU (11)

Yale University (14)

Princeton University (15)

Columbia University (17)

England had seven universities in the top 50 list, although Cambridge University fell one place down further to rest on 7th position, while Oxford University fell two places down to the 10th spot. Both universities have been producing highly valued alumni that dominate markets around the world and most of the leading jobs in the world go to the graduates from these universities. The European job market is dominated by universities in the UK and many key positions that are high in demand are secured by the graduate of the following universities:

UCL (18)

Imperial College London (33)

The University of Manchester (35)

The University of Bristol (37)

The London School of Economics and Political Science (49)

The QS rankings are one of the least politicized rankings since they also considers employer reputation, alumni outcomes, partnerships with employers per staff member, employer-student connections and the graduate employment rate to suggest a university’s place on the position in comparison with universities that rank above it.
