Seminars on voting integrity to be organized in colleges and universities

The District Election Commissioner and Chairman District Voters Education Committee (DVEC) Roshan Ali Mastoi has said that as long as we have aware fully our young generation about the importance of vote and exercising their right to vote, it is difficult to compete with developed countries unless they provide proper knowledge in this regard.

This he said while held an interactive session with all stakeholders of various departments, civil society about importance of vote by 18 years young generation and exercising their right held at his office here.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner II Prem Chand, Deputy Director Social Welfare Junaid Mirza, District Education Officer (ES / HS) Chaman Lal, National Coordinator (BLLF) Najma Sheikh, Executive Director Arts Foundation Shahzado Malik, District Coordinator Banh Bailey M B Capri, Zonal Manager (IR) Saleem Ahmed and Deputy Director Information Ghous Mohammad Pathan attended in the dialogue.

The session was held in connection with the voting of 18-year-olds and above and awareness and importance. The DVEC Mastoi said “Unless we provide full awareness to our youth, our future generations will not be able to use the vote properly and we will not be able to elect our own representatives to develop our areas, solve our problems ” he added.

It was decided in the meeting that the first seminar of this session will be held in the morning of January 29, 2022 at Government High School Bhansang abad in which besides students and members of District Voters Education Committee will also participate with training workshop will also be conducted.

A part from these, seminars will also be organized in colleges and universities. He said that the purpose of conducting seminars in high schools, colleges and universities is to educate the youth about the importance of voting before the forthcoming local body and general elections so that the youth can go to their villages and towns and reach out to the people.
