SHEC Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee visits DUET

The Sindh Higher Education Commission’s Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee headed by SHEC Chairman Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Tariq Rafi visited Dawood University of Engineering and Technology expressing satisfaction over administrative, financial and academic affairs of the varsity.

 DUET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Faizullah Abbasi received the SHEC members included Sindh Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Fateh Mohammad Murree, SHEC Secretary Moinuddin Siddiqui, Secretary Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee Secretary and Director General Noman Ahsan, Acting VC KU Nasira Khatoon and others.

The committee commended the DUET management for the ongoing reforms and improvements in the quality of education, promotion and research work. It reviewed the financial assistance provided, equipment and machinery in the laboratories and other academic and administrative matters of the university and expressed satisfaction over the overall performance.

The committee member Dr. Abdul Waheed Bhutto, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Dawood Engineering and Dr. Abdul Sami Rajput, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell, explained a detailed presentation to the committee on the performance, achievements and monitoring policies of the Quality Enhancement Cell of the varsity.

Dr Abbasi told the committee; “when I came to the university as the founding Vice Chancellor in 2013, there were no classes here and no engineering program was accredited. However, there was no PhD teacher in the university. As a result of continuous efforts and tireless struggle, not only regular classes were conducted but also all programs have been approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council”.

The launch of MS programs, PhD programs, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence programs is a testament to our excellent performance. On the occasion, SHEC Chairman Dr. Rafi praised Dr. Faizullah Abbasi for bringing stability in the university and promotion of educational activities during the last 9 years while Member Sindh Higher Education Commission Dr. Samreen Hussain said that the university in which I participated and as Chairperson Electronic Department fulfilling its responsibilities is a pleasure to see further development.
