In a significant move to ensure financial relief for parents and students, the Sindh Education Department (SELD) has issued strict instructions to private schools, prohibiting them from charging advance or extra fees beyond the approved timeline. The directives were issued under the guidance of Additional Director Rafia Javed, following the leadership of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A circular released by the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions outlines the revised fee collection regulations, aligning with the Steering Committee’s recent decisions. As per the updated academic calendar, the 2025-26 academic year will commence on April 1, 2025, with matriculation examinations scheduled to begin on March 15, 2025.
To alleviate the financial burden on families, the department has mandated specific guidelines for fee collection:
- Tuition fees for matric students may only be charged up to April 2025.
- For students advancing from pre-primary to Class IX and from Class IX to Class X, schools are permitted to collect fees for June and July 2025 in April and May 2025, respectively.
- Separate fee vouchers must be issued for each month, with deadlines clearly stated: June fees are due by June 30, 2025, and July fees by July 31, 2025.
The circular emphasized that all private schools across Sindh must comply with these regulations to ensure transparency and fairness in financial dealings with parents. Any violation of these directives will result in strict punitive action.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to reducing the financial strain on parents while ensuring the educational institutions operate within the framework of the law,” said Additional Director Rafia Javed.
The Sindh Education Department has urged all private school principals and administrators to immediately implement these measures, reiterating that non-compliance will not be tolerated. This proactive approach aims to foster a more equitable educational environment for families across the province.
