The departments of Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Bioinformatics of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) organized an open house orientation session on the campus. The students who were invited with their parents to attend the session were provided with the vision and academic guidance at the Orientation session prior to the start of regular classes.
Addressing the students of new batch, Vice Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Sir Syed University is ranked among the best universities of Pakistan for developing new ideas, new concepts, new theories and new dreams. With the best and brightest surrounding at Sir Syed University, you learn from the most experienced and skilled faculty.
He extended useful suggestions to the students for achieving honours in the academic field. He said, “Sir Syed University carries the name of the great visionary Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and it provides quality education to the students and trained them with skills to face the challenges of life.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin pointed out that choices and opportunities were limited in old days, but now the students have a wide range of options. Choice of profession is very important in the career. It is a critical decision and SSUET team is always available and ready to guide you in selection of the field of education. They will give you all required information. Sir Syed University is a non-profit organization imparting quality education. The university also gives importance to the personality grooming and character building. All courses of the Sir Syed University are accredited by Pakistan Engineering council and other relevant authorities. The Electronic Engineering discipline was the first one discipline of Sir Syed University accredited in level two by Washington Accord. Electronic engineering is an important field that is applicable to every field.
Welcoming and congratulating the young students and specially their honorable parents for selecting SSUET as their final grooming platform before embarking into practical life, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali said, “You people are lucky to choose SSUET because this university is different from many other universities. The difference is that it follows the ideology of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Your joining at SSUET marks a new chapter in the story of your life. This chapter is a bit different. The previous chapters were largely written by others i-e your parents, guardian, teachers and elders. Now you will be the main author of the next chapter. You have the opportunity to determine the direction, the plot and the tempo of your story. This might appear as a daunting task but you will find it very exciting ad equally empowering.
Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering said that this is an era of 4th Industrial Revolution, industry 4.0, including emerging technologies, smart technologies and Information Technology. SSUET has already introduced emerging technologies, providing state-of-the-art labs. People have become dependent to the technologies. We pursue the dream of digital Pakistan. During pandemic, SSUET started online Masters Classes within a week. In acknowledgement of this splendid performance, Sir Syed University was the one in private sector, placed among 13 universities for HDR. The Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) was selected by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan to be part of its Higher Education Data Repository – Piloting Phase Project. United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to be achieved by 2030. Sir Syed University was appreciated and included in 36 universities by Times Higher Education Impact Ranking according to its performance in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Chairperson of the Electronic Engineering Department of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology Dr. Lubna Farhi said that the Electronic Engineering Department tends to pursue the demand of quality education.
