SMIU signs MOU with University of Cologne, Germany

The Sindh Madressatul Islam University Karachi and the University of Cologne, Germany signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate between the two high seats of learning on Stem Cell Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon, Vice Chancellor, Sindh Madressatul Islam University and Prof. Dr. J. Hescheler, Director, Institute of the Neurophysiology University of Cologne, Germany today.

The memorandum calls for cooperation in various areas of mutual interest such as faculty and students exchange programs, research activities, joint research projects, and distinguished lecture series. Both the institutions have vowed to undertake research activities in the areas i.e mental age and stow behind genetics of people with Down Syndrome, improving speech disorders in people with Down Syndrome using Artificial Intelligence and artificial intelligence-based tools and techniques for early detection and management of stress.

Vice Chancellor SMIU Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon said Artificial Intelligence in education is the need of the hour, this is an era of technology and we want to produce a young generation with this technology. “The essential skills for the future are being changed, So, we must groom our students accordingly as the requirements of the future would be into Al” he told further.
