The KP MDCAT saga is not ending anytime soon, it seems. As the KP cabinet has decided to re-conduct the examination of MDCAT, students who passed the exam and were not involved in any mischievous activity have severely criticized this move.

On Saturday, these students, along with their parents staged a protest as they deemed it unfair that concessions were being granted to those who failed the exam, while protesters argued that rather than canceling the test, measures should be taken against the criminal elements, referring to it as a ‘victory for the underworld,’ and called for an inquiry into the examination results.

Many journalists have also criticized this move and called it the “victory of the mafia”. Mushtaq Yousafzai, a journalist affiliated with “The News” shared a video of the MDCAT topper and said “This brilliant female student, Uzra Riaz who got first position in the Kohat education board had topped #MDCAT. The MDCAT was canceled as children of influential people were not able to qualify for med & dental colleges, 219 of them were found in cheating with Bluetooth devices.”

He also said on his Twitter:

Mafias in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won their fight against the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the government decided to reorganize MDCAT in the province. This is a slap on the face of justice & a joke with the talented candidates who had qualified for medical & dental colleges.

Some have also criticized the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) instead of addressing the concerns of corruption, coming in defense of the examination.
