SU chalks out a short plan to compensate academic loss, announces winter holidays

A high level meeting of Pro-Vice Chancellor, Focal Persons, Deans of various Faculties, heads of some concerned departments and administrative officers was held under the chair of the Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro at Senate Hall of VC Secretariat wherein a short academic plan was chalked out in order to compensate academic loss occurred during COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting announced that the winter vacation will take place from December 28, 2021 to January 7, 2022.

According to the details, the house discussed the selection and display of merit lists of the Bachelor and Master Degree Programs for the Academic Year 2022.

Director Admissions Prof. Dr. Ayaz Keerio told in his briefing that the results of intermediate by some education boards had not been announced yet, due to which the admissions to Bachelor programs were being delayed.

He said that all the work of Directorate of Admissions had been completed while the first merit list will be issued as soon as the intermediate exam results were announced.

Regarding the master’s programs, he said that out of the total number of candidates who applied for the master’s degree, half of the candidates had completed the form completely, however, half of the candidates had not yet uploaded the certificates.

On the occasion, the SU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro said that the first merit list of Masters should be issued and as soon as the remaining candidates submitted the required certificates, their admission will be based on the available seats in different disciplines.

The meeting unanimously decided that the date for uploading required certificates on eportal for Bachelor Degree Programs would be extended till December 31, 2021.

It was also resolved that the examinations for the first semester of M.Phil and Ph.D would be held from February 14, however the examination results would be announced on March 1, 2022.

The meeting also decided that the classes of senior batches i.e. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years of Bachelor Degree Programs would be commenced from January 10, 2022 after the winter break while the classes of new batch will be started after the admission process was over.

The meeting also resolved that the results of annual examinations of 3-year LLB Part I would be announced by December 30.

The results of LLB Part II will be announced on or before January 10, 2022 and the results of LLB Part III will be declared on or before January 17, 2022.
