The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has rolled back the decision of suspension of a head teacher and a teacher whose video went viral on social media after they brought the school’s miserable state of affairs to light.
The Punjab Minister for School Education (SED), Murad Raas, has said that the department was focused on improving education quality in the province and a roadmap had been prepared to improve the standards.
With ministers of the new Punjab cabinet beginning to take stock of their portfolios with briefings from officials and discussions about reforms, school teachers in the province have called upon Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas to take them on board before making a decision on any major policy reform.
The interim Punjab government issued a landmark notification last week, according to which transgender students will be given indiscriminate admissions and will be treated equally in all government and private schools across the province.
The Government of Punjab launched its Annual School Enrolment Campaign for 2018 at a ceremony held at Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED) on Monday.
