The Citizens Foundation (TCF) Pakistan has delivered more than one million meals to flood victims in sixteen districts of Pakistan including Mirpurkhas, Badin, Shikarpur, Dadu, Hyderabad, and Khairpur. The ongoing relief efforts began as a response to the flood crisis.
The Citizens Foundation Pakistan is using its extensive network of schools in rural and urban areas to address the immediate needs of affected families residing nearby. The Citizens Foundation has already provided 1,103,345 meals to communities whose lives continue to be disrupted as a result of unprecedented floods.
The organization intends to provide 5 million meals for flood affectees and help reconstruct homes for 9000 families once the flood water recedes.
For 27 years, TCF is committed to making quality education accessible for the lesser privileged children of Pakistan. Due to the magnitude of the flood damage, a large number of residents have lost their homes and sources of income, making it likely that the number of out-of-school children will increase. To prevent school dropouts, TCF will continue to work on multiple fronts to sustain its school communities in this difficult time.
1,717 people died, including 639 children, and an additional 12,867 were injured. Over 2.1 million people were left homeless or are living in temporary camps because of the floods. These are the deadliest floods in Pakistan since 2010, when nearly 2,000 died in flooding, and the deadliest in the world since the 2020 South Asian floods. Losses are worth US$40 billion from the flooding.
