Tech Nation Conference concludes at IUB

First International Tech Nation Conference concluded here today at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur(IUB). Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on e-Commerce Senator Aon Abbas Buppi was the chief guest.

Addressing the occasion, he said that the PTI government is facilitating e-Commerce and internet based businesses and such rules and regulations and being made that can prove helpful for freelancers. He said that the government’s policies related to Information Technology are already paying dividends and e-Commerce is being revolutionized in the country. He said that IT workers are earning 21 dollars per hour across the world but unfortunately Pakistani freelancers and IT workers are paid only 2 dollars per hour. He said that young freelancers and entrepreneurs should come forward with innovative ideas. He said that South Punjab, especially Bahawalpur, has great potential for w-Commerce. He appreciated the role of Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob in organising of Tech Nation Conference.

He urged youth to fulfil the dream of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal by following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob in his address said that IUB has a prominent place among universities of South Punjab in the field of IT. He said that almost 8000 students are getting IT related education at the university and that’s why this university was selected for assembling IT experts of the country for this conference. He said that establishment of IT Park at the university will prove a milestone achievement for the varsity.
