1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

MIT is one of the best universities in the world which was established back in 1861. MIT has a selective admission policy that is based on students’ past academic records and an entrance exam. The admission rate for Oxford is about 21% which is high in comparison to IVY League universities.

5. University of British Columbia (UBC)

University of British Columbia is one of the oldest universities which was established in 1908, it is among the top three universities in Canada with over more than 80,000 students. Canada’s first female prime minister, Kim Campbell and the current prime minister, Justin Trudeau have studied from University of British Columbia too. National University of Singapore has not only been considered as the most prestigious universities in the world but in Asia itself too. As the university is quite well known the chances of getting into this institution are difficult, this is the reason why their acceptance rate is so low.

8. The University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne was established in 1853, is one of the finest yet prestigious universities in not only Australia but the world too. The institute is a global leader in terms of higher education. It is one of the oldest universities in Melbourne and second oldest in entire Australia. The university is known to accept many international students and is the most preferred choice among students. It also offers scholarships to their international students. 10. Columbia University

Columbia University is a private Ivy League research University which was founded back in 1754. Columbia University is one the oldest institutes of higher education in New York and the 5th oldest institutes of higher learning in the United States. Columbia is organized into twenty schools which includes four undergraduate schools and sixteen graduate schools. Columbia university has an acceptance rate of around 6.5% which ranks it as the most difficult school to get into and the students require to have a GPA of at least 4.15 or more to get into Columbia.
