TEVTA celebrates World Youth Skills Day

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab, in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Industries and Skills Development departments of Punjab, celebrates World Youth Skills Day here on Saturday.

Secretary Industries was Chief guest with DG PSDA Moazzam Sipra, DG NAVTCC Afshan, the Punjab University of Technology (PUT) Rasul Vice-Chancellor Dr Rauf Azam, Vice-Chancellor Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT) Dr Abdul Sattar Shakir, DG TEVTA Aamir Aziz, representatives of PVTC, District managers, Principals and teachers of Tevta institutions were present.

DG PSDA thanked and elaborated the importance of the day. Country Director GIZ Faisal emphasized on environment-friendly TVET.

Secretary Industrues Ehsan Bhutta briefed in detail about Youth bulge, policy of blending formal education with Technical education, focusing on training of teachers in industries, new intitiatives of Summer skill camp for students of public schools & colleges in 10 DIV. Headquarters, Boots skill camp 30 districts with more than 11,000 students in 30 trades of IT, Entrepreneurs and Hospitality, 10 Prisons and Madrassa students to be imparted skill based training.

He thanked participants and organizers with govt. Resolve to impart technical and vocational ( Skill based training) to students to become effective citizens.

At end certificates were distributed among top principals, teachers and district managers. The participants and stakeholders appreciated this initiative of Industries department and TEVTA for arranging such a wonderful event and motivating them.
